Alyshia McInnes is a visual artist, designer & illustrator living and working in the Grampians region of country Western Victoria, Gunditjmara country.
Alyshia enjoys working across a range of different media and her work is influenced by her every day surroundings, her love of her local landscape and her admiration for the beauty and wonder of the natural world. She has a keen and growing interest in plants, flowers and gardening - something shared with generations of women in her family. Her love of visiting gardens and green spaces is something she views as integral to her creativity and wellbeing and something she loves to share through her work. Her art has been described as warm, whimsical, colourful, playful, peaceful and contemporary. If Alyshia were to describe a central theme in her work it would be the human connection to nature, stories and place underpinned by her passion for sharing the importance of creativity in our lives.
Alyshia lives in Hamilton Victoria with her farmer husband Matt and her two beloved dogs Beau and Alfie.
Alyshia holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Majoring in Design) and a Masters of Art Therapy. She was a finalist in the Southwest Women's International Art Prize in 2016 & 2019.
